Answer: Simply, never do your own electrical repairs and always contact a qualified Electrical Contractor. Other measure you can take is to make sure you have Safety Switches installed into your main switch board to protect human life in the event of a fault in an electrical circuit.

Question: How do I know if my house is safe and when should I get an electrical safety inspection done?

Answer: I recommend that you get an electrical safety inspection done in any event you think something is not safe, if you are purchasing a property that has been occupied, if the property is over 20 years old and/or if an inspection hasn’t been done for more than 5 years.

Question: What is Tariff 31?

Answer: Tariff 31 is know as the Super Economy (off peak) meter reader and it is the cheapest off peak tariff available specifically for storage hot water units. This tariff is about 60% cheaper than your normal Domestic Tariff. Times of switching on power to this meter is between the hours of 10pm – 7am heating your storage hot water throughout the night.

Question: What is Tariff 33?

Answer: Tariff 33 is known as the Economy Meter Reader and is commonly used for a combination of electrical circuits including hot water, pool pumps and sometimes Air-Conditioning units. This Tariff is about 40% cheaper than the normal Domestic Tariff.
In south east Queensland this meter is available 18 hours of the day but the switching times for this meter vary depending on your network provider (Energex or Ergon). the times that this meter will be switched off is sometime between the peak energy hour of 4pm-9pm and 6am-9am.
